General

Do Storkcraft’s® colors match well with other brands?

The best color match would be with other Storkcraft products. We cannot be certain if our colors match well with other brands. There may be variations based on color lots used with each production run.

I have purchased several Storkcraft® items for a bedroom set. Can I expect all the colors of the pieces to match perfectly?

Not necessarily. There are several variables involved: country of manufacture, type of wood available/used, and painting process. Depending on the country of manufacture, or even wood availability in the same country at different times, the same type of wood may not be used for every manufacturing run of an item. The same painting process may be used on two different types of woods, yet the wood may take the paint differently. Even within one tree, certain sections may react slightly differently to the painting process. This is just the nature of wood. So, while the color will always be very close, there may be slight variations between items, or even within different parts of the same item. Part of the beauty and uniqueness of Storkcraft furniture are these natural variations that indicate real wood fabrication.

Do cribs and bunk beds come with mattresses?

Mattresses are available as a separate purchase, they do not come as an included item with cribs, toddler or bunk bed systems unless stated otherwise.

Are your products made with wood or particle board?

All Storkcraft® products may be made from a combination of solid wood, veneers, composite, and other wood products.

Where can I find my assembly instructions?

Our cribs are finished with non-toxic product. Unfortunately chewing is not something that we can control, however we do recommend that if this does start to happen you can purchase crib protectors on our retailers’ websites.

What if my baby gets stuck between the slats?

Our cribs are made in accordance with the current safety standards and gaps between the slats are mandatory width apart. This would not be part of a recall. If you have any questions regarding these standards, please refer to the CPSC on our website.

We sell the full-size bed conversion kits or bed frame kits for selected items/brands. It would be advisable to check with our customer care department to confirm this is correct for your product. Shipping costs would apply if ordered through Storkcraft®.

What size mattress should I buy for my crib?

The mattress size should be at least 27.25 inches wide x 51.625 inches long and should not exceed more than 6 inches thick. The mattress should be of such length and width that the gap between the mattress and the sides of the crib is not more than 1-3/16 inches when the mattress is pushed into the corner of the crib. This is for safety reasons, ensuring no gaps.

Can I paint my crib?

We do not recommend painting any of our cribs, but if you wish to do so then you should only use non-toxic paint, which has no lead in it.

Please note that any modification to your crib may invalidate your warranty, so please read the warranty coverage shown on your assembly instructions.

Is a full-size crib conversion kit necessary in order to convert my crib into a daybed or toddler bed?

How many pounds will this crib hold?

The limiting factor for using the crib is as a general guide of 50 pounds, however it is more the child size and ability that is a factor. The maximum height given by the standard to use a crib is 35 inches tall. Once a child is able to climb out of the crib, it may be time to move them into a toddler bed.

Should I use a crib that was given to me by a friend or a relative?

If the crib is brand new as a gift, ensure you have all the original purchase details from the person who gifted the product to you in case of warranty issues. These will be needed to provide service. If second hand, you may use the crib if you are confident that the party giving it to you purchased it new from one of our recognized retailers, you know how it was used and stored, and whether it meets all current safety standards. These can be found on our website, under resources and safety. If you cannot confidently answer the aforementioned criteria, then we recommend that you do not use a second-hand crib.
